Richard Bishop has been a devoted figure in the Carmel Central School District since September 1998, dedicating close to three decades to nurturing young minds as a 5th grade teacher, with impactful years at both Kent Elementary and George Fischer Middle School.
His educational journey also includes serving as Varsity Girls Tennis Coach at Carmel High School, volunteer CYO basketball coach at St. Joachim in Beacon, and high school basketball official for IAABO in Putnam, Dutchess and Ulster Counties.
That experience is pivotal in not only finding dream homes, but educating clients so each makes informed, common-sense decisions.
Because Rick is still an active full-time teacher, he only takes on a maximum of two sellers and one buyer at any given time — a maximum of three active clients.

Rick is a licensed New York Real Estate Salesperson with Briante Realty Group in Carmel, backed by a Bachelor of Science in marketing and business administration from Manhattan College.
He's also an FAA-licensed commercial drone pilot specializing in 3D mapping, and founder of Aspire-Above Inc., a freelance drone company — which means his listings come with photography and 3D models most agents simply can't offer.
Extensive hiking, some kayaking, and travel to 46 states and five countries have made him slow down and appreciate the finer aspects of the land he calls home.
Rick's grandfather, William Slattery, was a WWII Navy veteran who piloted the plane that dropped surrender papers on Wake Island in the Pacific. He was the glue of a big family — and that same instinct to look out for people still guides how Rick works with every client.
Son Jordan is a celebrated All-MAAC athlete with 225 career hits in Siena College baseball history. Jake is a Siena graduate and top salesman at Manhattan Beverage. Hannah is a Varsity Cheer Coach at Roy C. Ketcham High School. Aubree studies ballet at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
Rick was also an inspiration for the children's book "Slam Dunk Saturday" and consulted on "Basketball Buddies" by famed "I Spy" series author Jean Marzollo.

Who I Am
A little more of the story behind the work.
I'm Rick Bishop — licensed real estate salesperson with Briante Realty Group in Carmel, commercial drone pilot, lacrosse & basketball official, and full-time 5th grade teacher.
That teaching background is the secret sauce. I don't just open doors. I make sure you understand what's happening behind them so you can make confident decisions.
My grandfather, William Slattery (WWII Navy veteran), was the glue of our big family. That same instinct to look out for people still guides how I work with every client.
A Letter From Me
The personal side of why Rick does this.
Dear Friend and Neighbor,
I love the outdoors. I'm obsessed with sports. I'm a total tech nerd. And I'll never stop learning. But nothing comes close to my family.
My dad — still camping and shoveling his own driveway in his 80s — taught me to love the land. My mom gave me the competitive fire. Somewhere in the middle of all that, real estate became the perfect place to put everything together.
Helping a family find the right home feels a lot like teaching — you listen hard, explain clearly, and celebrate when it finally clicks.
Because I'm still a full-time teacher, I keep my client list small on purpose. That way every person gets real attention. If I'm booked when you reach out, I'll still talk with you and connect you with someone excellent.
